For someone who wishes to learn skills which they can use to help other people like getting experience working with the first aid kit, learning how to properly do CPR to be able to help someone who is suffering from a heart attack, or properly learning the Heimlich maneuver to help someone who is choking or has something stuck in their throat. To be able to learn these skills and others that you will be able to use in case there is a emergency of some sort where you need to help someone out, you should really consider getting certification of some sort. Now this does not mean that you need to have a doctorate and years of medical experience, nor does it mean that you will have to go and enroll yourself for the next few years into a med school, you can very easily get certification as a state approved nursing assistant if you try to get CNA or STNA certification.
You can get this certification very easily as all you have to do is make sure you meet the pre requisites that an institute or hospital asks for before you apply for the training module. Then in a few short weeks you will get the necessary training and knowledge about the human body, the different diseases that we can contract and how they must be treated, different infections and how to stop them from spreading. You will learn all of these things and more, like how to communicate with patients who may have gone into shock or are not responding, in STNA training classes that you will receive. After the training you will be administered a test which will check how you work under pressure. After the test you can get your certification and be better prepared to help anyone who needs it.
